Pedro did a very nice Buttonwood styling and I agree with one of our newer member who said” the tree would also look good with leaves”. Most definetly..
The slide show was a treat. Great to see global changes and adjustments in bonsai and how it may affect our own thinking next time we plan a tree. The penjings were funny and I thought about someting I might try next time I am showing a tree. Kinda like “telling a story”…;)

Pedro Morales’ slide show was most thought provoking. I learned about new styles and new artists. I spent an hour on Sunday looking at pictures of trees from around the world. It gave me an opportunity think about my definition of bonsai. It seems we have a continuum from tradition Japanese style to the idea of a modern sculpture that happens to include a tree.
Great stuff that I would have missed except for an excellent club program. Thanks

Pedro’s slide presentation was wonderful. I believe he was trying to open our minds to the world around us and the endless possibilities this art form provides. Not to mention I now look at brick walls in a whole new light.
There is a very interesting article published by William Wilson titled “Bonsai: Plant in a Pot or Smouldering Cauldron”. It’s worth a read. You can find it on http://www.bonsai4me.com
